Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?
Everyone experiences scalp micropigmentation differently, some clients may fall asleep during the procedure while others may experience modest discomfort. What is the difference between Scalp Micropigmentation and a regular tattoo?
Although Scalp Micropigmentation is considered a tattoo, the equipment and technique are quite different. The needles used for scalp micropigmentation are much smaller than traditional tattoo needles, also the needles do not go as far into the skin as a regular tattoo. In scalp micropigmentation, a specially formulated pigment created not to discolor is used. Scalp micropigmentation uses pointillism or a dotting technique, where traditional tattoos use more of a scraping method.
What if my hair goes grey or white in the future, will my scalp micropigmentation color look unnatural?
The pigments used for scalp micropigmentation are designed to naturally soften over the years. Even with white hair, the “ follicles” created with scalp micropigmentation provide an element of dimension within your hair. Due to the gradual fading of the pigment, a touch up may be required after 4-6 years.
How many treatments are needed and how long is each session?
Most scalp micropigmentation treatments are done in 2-3 sessions. The first session can take 3-4 hours, the second session, 2-3 hours and if a third session is necessary, between 1-2.5 hours.
